Budgets

Set up your production budget

Set the total, split it across categories, and track what the shoot actually costs.

A prepros budget lives on the production, next to the plan it pays for. You set an overall number, allocate it across categories, and track line items against it as the shoot runs.

Set the total and allocate it

  1. Open Budget on your production and set the total budget.
  2. Allocate amounts across categories: Props, Crew, Location, Food, Travel, Gear, and Other.
  3. prepros shows what's still unallocated, and flags it if your categories add up to more than the total.

Track spending

Add line items as costs land, each with a vendor, price, category, and month, plus receipt and invoice files attached to the line they belong to. Group the view by category, by month, or by source to see where the money is going.

Some of it tracks itself:

  • Crew costs roll in from each member's fee, and you can adjust the days right from the budget view.
  • Location fees and prop costs feed in from their own records.
